Arsenoy
(Fayoum land in the past)

The Story of the Name – Arsenoy

The name Arsenoy carries within it a story of place, history, and a sense of honor and recognition. During the Ptolemaic era, the land of Fayoum was historically known as Arsenoy, named after Queen Arsenoy, the wife of King Ptolemy II, who gave the region her name as a tribute and gesture of appreciation. This historic name was chosen for the association to reflect its connection to the place where its journey first began.

Arsenoy became associated with one of Egypt’s most remarkable landscapes—where water meets fertile land, creating a unique natural environment whose beauty has inspired people and artists throughout the centuries.

When the idea of the artistic project first emerged, Tunis Village in Fayoum became the starting point. There, between the lake, fields, and sand hills, artists discovered a visually rich environment filled with light, color, and natural compositions. The place was not simply a venue for an artistic event, but a living source of inspiration and the beginning of a creative journey.

From this connection came the choice of the name Arsenoy—a tribute to the place where the beginnings took shape and a reflection of Fayoum’s long history as a meeting point of nature, culture, and art. The name embodies the association’s philosophy of returning to nature as the primary source of artistic inspiration, while linking historical roots with a contemporary artistic vision.

Thus, Arsenoy has become more than just a name; it is a symbol of an artistic journey that begins with the beauty of place and evolves through the creative experiences of artists, eventually transforming into artworks that tell the story of light, nature, and humanity.

Artistic Art Tourism
The Concept

Arsenoy adopts a contemporary concept that brings together art and travel through what we call Artistic Art Tourism.

This concept is based on organizing artistic journeys and gatherings in selected destinations both within Egypt and internationally, where artists travel to diverse natural and cultural environments in search of inspiring landscapes.

In this experience, travel becomes an essential part of the creative process. Artists immerse themselves in the spirit of each place—its light, colors, natural formations, local architecture, and cultural heritage. Through painting directly from nature, these scenes are transformed into artworks that capture the essence of the place and reinterpret it through a contemporary artistic vision.

Through this approach, Arsenoy aims to build bridges between art, nature, and different cultures, allowing the artwork to become a visual expression that documents the beauty of landscapes, heritage, and human experiences around the world.
